Mental Health is a subject that has long been pushed under the carpet, especially where the legal industry is concerned. Lawyers are expected to manage tremendous amounts of workload and stress, at the same time make it look like they are in control and on top of their game at all times.
In many ways, the pandemic has helped concerns and conversations around mental health come to the forefront. We are trying to be kinder to ourselves, our loved ones and even strangers. We are accepting that it is important to take care of our mental well-being and it’s ok to seek support.
The need to address mental health challenges is not just at a personal level. Organisations too are understanding this and learning how best to support their people. We are all learning and we must keep at it because we have a long way to go
