Renu Gopalakrishnan joins EssilorLuxottica as Head of Legal, India & South Asia

Renu Gopalakrishnan has joined EssilorLuxottica as Head of Legal, India & South Asia.

Before taking up the role, Gopalakrishnan was a Partner at Khaitan & Co, where her practice spanned mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and investments, restructuring, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters, and cross-border structures and joint ventures. In that capacity she advised boards, promoters, and management teams across India, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Earlier in her career, Gopalakrishnan held positions at Afridi & Angell, Trilegal, and Rajkotia Associates, covering acquisitions, private equity transactions, strategic mergers, joint ventures, asset transfers, legal due diligence, corporate affairs, and civil and commercial law matters — a career spanning over 22 years across law firms and senior in-house roles in India and the UAE.

Gopalakrishnan graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 2004.
