The GC Insider Report Launch 2024

LawWiser unveils the second edition of ‘The GC Insider Report’ to discuss the evolving relationship between GCs and Law Firms in a world increasingly driven by tech and regulation.

LawWiser is pleased to announce the launch of the second edition of, ‘The GC Insider Report,’ on April 18, 2024 uncovering the key drivers of law firm engagement. The report aims to bridge the gap between General Counsels (GCs) and Law Firms, offering valuable insights based on a survey done of over 64 in-house counsels.

The launch event, held on April 18th, was graced by legal luminaries including our Guest of Honor Hon’ble Justice Vipin Sanghi (Retd) and Mr. C. Aryama Sundaram, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India. The opening remarks were given by Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat, Group General Counsel at Vedanta, and LawWiser’s advisory board member, setting the stage for an enlightening discussion.

The ‘GC Insider Report’ is the result of a survey assessing the views of in-house counsels on their expectations from external advisors. With inputs from different decision-making in-house roles across diverse sectors, the report highlights key areas such as firm selection (preferences and expectations of GCs), changing advisors, budget & billing, expansion of in-house teams, tech innovation, AI surge and role of ESG.

‘Through this report, we try to understand how the business environment is changing and therefore how law firms can engage with clients more effectively, ’said Aman Abbas, Founder & CEO, of LawWiser.

The launch event was supported by Luthra and Luthra, IndusLaw, and Athena Legal showcasing the industry-wide collaboration behind this initiative. The ‘GC Insider Report’ is an annual publication, with participation from a diverse base of General Counsels, aimed at driving continuous improvement and collaboration within the legal community.

In addition to the report launch, LawWiser hosted an award ceremony to unveil the prestigious lineup of the “GC Hall of Fame – Leading In-house Counsels of India.” The ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements of these legal luminaries, recognizing their contributions to the corporate landscape through visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to excellence.
